New Member of Sustainable Coffee Program “UTZ” by Rainforest Alliance

XPresso and the Webersche Kaffeerösterei become as of January 1, 2015 a member of the sustainable coffee program UTZ.

The program helps coffee farmers to farm their plantations profitably – but with great respect for the people as well as natural resources. The coffee farmers learn efficient methods of cultivation, in order to increase their harvests. This also enables them to improve their prospects for the future.

UTZ-certified coffee is not necessarily grown organically. However, the methods of conventional agriculture are only used with very strict controls. The farmers receive relevant training and have to keep records of the use of pesticides and fertilisers.

Where does the coffee come from and under what conditions is it farmed? UTZ Certified gives transparent answers to these questions. Follow us to the plantation where the coffee grows and trace the coffee back to the plantation – and the journey begins.
